Using census'

The first formal census took place in 1841 and recorded every name in every household across England. Using census’ when researching family history is invaluable as it provides lots of clues and information. Depending on the year, census’ can provide names, address’, ages, occupations and birthplaces of individuals.

Colourising & editing images

At Parkers Genealogy, we have various methods of colourising black and white photos. With this method, we are also able to enhance the colours of already-coloured photos.

Editing images also allows for the image to be straightened (like the example has been) which helps to modernise and make the image clearer.

Military records

Military records are an invaluable resource when researching family history. Military records often record the address and occupation of the individual enlisting. It also provides very specific details such as height and eye colour, which helps to bring the individual to life.
